What brings us closer to ourselves, our real selves, our human selves What makes us look at this life here on earth, the only life that we know of fo sho, and really appreciate every single moment (that moment that can last a lifetime, or a split second) that we have here on this precious earth...not religion. In fact...

I can't think of any endeavor that brings humanity further from the truth of our temporary material existence than religion. Be good to your neighbors, why, you can just ask for forgiveness every Sunday. Take care of the one environment that we have. No, why would we do that when the goal is a heaven not of this earth. What about art...

Art is what differentiates us from savage animals. If it were not for the language of art and the feelings and emotions an art piece can provoke/inspire, then...what the fuck (quote me on that one. Kriss said, "WTF.").

Really, after 25 years wouldn't the "yellow-ness" of the piss seperate into yellow and clear. Seriously.

I didn't know this until recently, but the really awesome art work from Andres Serrano, Piss Christ, is freekin' 25 years young. In recent years we have seen "ants on Jesus" and various other so called blasphemous pieces, but Piss Christ is the Michael Jordan of awesome blasphemous art (yes, I did say that). Or is it.

While it is the most controversial art work of the past 25 years, upon closer examination...it has been misinterpreted. I don't know how I missed this before but Serrano is a believer (to what degree I do not know), and his work was intended to show the humanity of a 1/3 ghost, God and don't forget...man.

Yea, dude submerge a crucified Jesus in a container of his own piss, but not to diss (I couldn't resist. sorry), it was to show the human third of a dude named Jesus Christ. How. Why. Because all humans go shit and piss. Jesus *allegedly* was on the cross for three days (I think it was really less than 40 hours) so of course when he was dieing for your sins he went pee pee- dookie all over himself.

This is the point I wanna make. The Jesus Cult brings us mere humans so totally away from our humanity. Do we halfta deny that Jesus coulda pissed on himself (yes) even tho we are told he is human, just like you and I (except for God is your dad part). We certainly cannot talk about or express human sexuality in secular terms (only biblical), honestly and out in the open. In fact our LGBT brothers and sisters halfta deny their very own sexuality to appease the church.

Women are second class citizens, naturally, according to the church. NOT. Mere humans do not, naturally, have sexual desires. NOT. People naturally go pee pee and poo poo. NOT.

Piss Christ is a kinda cool piece of art that attempts to remind teh peeps that one third of Jesus was in fact an earthly human with human traits, emotions and feelings. Houston...that is affirmative.
