What's a political platform anyways and why did we halfta change it.

I'll admit it, I won't be a hero, I hadta look up what platform (political platform) means. It's a manifesto-y thing just in case, ya know (you're not honest enuff to admit that you didn't know either and you halfta lie to kick it or...) , you didn't know. In fact it's a (sorta) declaration to teh erffs that (this dude or this group) stands for this, this, and this. Apparently they wanna hijack (political) platforms also.

Soooo, it seems that there was a perfectly good platform for the DNC and I guess the same one since 2008 (that's cool, right), but guess who got butt hurt because they felt like they were left out/left behind or omitted or something...God...and Jerusalem. So the DNC hadta change it. Phooey!

Is this the something from nothing that all the cool kids keep talking about, because there was no mention of God in the platform and...now there is. Hmmm...

God's party did this. That is the point. That is the point that I always try and subtlety hit home with that metaphorical hammer that I wield every so often. They forced our hand and, in fact they also called us out on the Jerusalem is the capital thing (WTF) and that is why, at least for a while, Team Reelect the awesome Black Prez was on the defensive, backtracking, amending-n-such and a bunch of other stuff. That is why God suddenly appeared in what is usually a pretty secular (or at least not as batshit uber religious crazy), liberal platform.

Isn't this the religious privilege that we wuz talking about the other day (yes). We can't ask that God be taken outta the public square (that's what the battle for secular society is), but when heeee makes an appearance in what was once a secular document-something from nothing, then we are supposed to just shudda up. No man.

So why stop there. Why don't we make more additions to the platform. They added that government "gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential." Then, because everything should be equal in a fair and just world, we should be allowed to have a line that says "gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential. Oh wait...that was the original line. Anyways...



It's one of those harmless things like the lil' old lady that drives her sick ass 65' Mustang to church on Sundays, that if I never saw religion injecting itself into the secular,..that'll be alright by me. It's unfair. It's even unfair to explain why it is unfair (that's like getting hit twice). I think it's so stupid (there I said it). What is this the pledge of allegiance (3). What is this Mitt "Flip flip" Romney...oh, btw...(segue)...

Hey man, at one time I'm sure the *majority* of the population was down with *owning* an entire whole human being (and kickin' the shit outta them), err, slavery, but that doesn't make it right. At one time women were not allowed to vote, minorities were seen as savages and...who is doing the "veering" anyways.

I recall a kinder/gentler GOP'er in the history of my mind. It used to be about stuff other than American religion. It wasn't so line drawn in the sand polarizing. They have veered and transformed over the past, like, decade of so. It probably began in the 70's with Peanut, but it was the Bush regime where American Exceptionalism and dominionism started to go all virus-n-exponential-shit (I'm trying to say "spreads fast").

(1) We can easily say that about them (and we do, right), right. Yes.

(2) If everyone is jumping off of a cliff to their death then fuck that. If everyone is jumping off of a cliff and into a raft with the Official Swedish Bikini Team (a guy can fantasize. leave it alone) and hella beer then...WTF, right (?).

(3) I can't believe that I'm gonna say this, but...the pledge of allegience didn't have god in it and then in like, 1954 (I'm guessing, does anyone know.thanks) all of a sudden...God is in it. Something from nothing (4).
