I'll admit it...I'm moving into the "geez, you're THAT old mister," territory. I'm beginning to say old people things like, "those young wiper-snappers...in my day...if I was that boys father I'd...it used to be the price of ( insert common everyday thing here) was (insert a ridiculously low amount right here), or the very common "That's how old my mom is..."...etc etc etc...(1). There are things that, ugh I can't believe I'm a gonna say this, the younger generation does that just seems to new for this old fashioned guy. But then again, I never thought I would have an online persona (krissthesexyatheist, ever here of him), and I do now, so why on God's green earth should I shy away from...online dating.

Really. Really. Isn't that that activity of sexual perverts that are too lame to get laid, ugh..you know, thru conventional means (whatever that is). Apparently not. Two things have happened that have made me change my mind.

If I DID do online dating and I came across someone that said they didn't like LOLCats, then ...baby wez speaks teh different langugez.

1). My only retired white haird'd homie/customer/friend is toooootttaaalllyyyy tearing it up on some dating site. Sooooo often I see him and some silver haired hottie meeting each other with a handshake, they shoot the shit for a while (rather nervously-I can see their legs running under the table), and then the awkward hug at the end and the "I'll call you (maybe)."

One nite at dudes house for movie nite I talked to him about it and he was very enthusiastic to help me navigate around (insert dating site here). In fact, everyone i've consulted says try it.

One day I will accept the Humanist award for rockin' the guitar so hard that world peace happened after. my set.

2). This is the better reason...the dudes that created OKCupid won this years Humanist award and there statistics show that if you apply and you use "atheist" as one of your key words, then the likeliness that someone will respond, as opposed to not responding, is, like, a-billion percent. Mentions religion and fo sho you will get a response, but mention no religion then it's all "heyyyyyy...."

Or not.

Will I try it. Probably not. I work next to a college fer Christs sake and (because my depression is under check)...I'm not shy or lacking in confidence right now (2). Should you guys try it, esp. the ones in the bible belt areas where concealing you atheism is equivalent to ninja status...yes, a definite yes.
