| Is it just me, or does this look more like Star Wars than the manger scene. |
What a difference a day makes. I'm sort of embarrassed by my meek-atheism yesterday. I feel a lot more feisty (not angry) today and ya know what makes this atheist
unfurl (is that a word) his magnificent symbolic atheist peacock feathers in in spectacular fashion...the War on Christmas. If department stores can start their sales earlier, then fo sho the mighty atheist blogosphere can git down with some War on Christmas (WoC, baby).

Those snarky and correct atheist in Santa Monica, Ca, are at it again. Recap-nutshell...the city has had a tradition of displaying religious theme Christmas stuff like (the fake) manger scene, a white Jesus, dudes birthday on the 25th and whatever else. A couple of years ago Team Atheist wanted equal accesses to public property stuffs and made their own display that quoted Jefferson (1) and said something like happy Saturnalia. Religious folks got teh mad and the next year the city did a lottery for the spots to display, but wouldn't you know it...those pesky atheists got 18 of 21 of them ruining last years Christmas (2) and now here we are this year...the whole thing is cancelled.

Just like last year and the year before and anytime the First Amendment is challenged and the question is
can you use government time, money, space to promote religion(s), the verdict will ALWAYS be no freekin' way. This is when cries of
it's not religious. It's about Christmas (except that whole Jesus part) are met with deaf ears and inaction from city council members. After all, what public servant wants to be a part of a losing battle to inject a particular religion(s) into the public square...not any smart ones.
