Pink Week 19 Years Young

The first rule about Pink Week is...definitely talk about it and spread the pink gospel. Other than that, it's anything goes, just don't get it confused with the mainstream hijacking (cancer awareness, whatever wave of feminism is currently happening) of the very (if you choose) innocent color of pink.

How many times have I talked about words and hijacking here...a million gazilloion, right. Off the top of my head...the word feminism has been hijacked (when did it morph into manhater, fem-nazi, stupid I tell you) as well as environmentalist (1). Don't get me started on the word atheism. Don't. Anyhoo...

With all the ado over that word "atheism" I think that Team Atheist can learn from (I'll brag right now) Myyyyy friend, Gioia (2). For better or worse the two words (pink, atheism) have been hijacked. Kind gentle and very good looking readers, we WILL take back the nite, we will take back this country, our education system (esp. the science classroom), the arts, music and culture...and while we are at it...let's take back the word "atheism" and the color pink.

Of course I will not offer any, ya know, facts. For that go to the official Pink Week (dot org) site at...here.

Anddddd....for ne reason, a message from Depressed Cat.

(1) It used to just mean someone that cares for the environment, now it is associated with young punks destroying property and equipment that does not belong to them, and/or, living in a tree and pee-ing in a bucket.

(2) Super awesome Gioia created Pink Week 19 years ago as an art experiment. She teaches art at Sac City College and she is known as the recycle-environmentalist art teacher, although, she tells me, that is not the point (just the by product). Hellloooooo......
