Footnote Number Two, The Election Enlightenment And Forsomes

Am I fuckin' stoned or what, or this is one of those things that happen in the nite when normal people are asleep,  I do believe that I just read an article that said blacks are cool with teh gay marriage. Is this a dream. Recall the Prop 8 thingy and how teams atheist and secular (correctly) pointed out the douche baggery of the powerful rich elite Mormon's backing with money accompanied  with volumes of black church go'ers that is anti teh gays (and only because the bible told them so, which is pretty stupid if you ask me (1)) and voted that way. Until...

Al looks skinny here. Years ago when he debated Hitch at the NY Library, Sharpy looked really pudgy back then compared to now. My hero looked, wello, drunk. I thought he could have done better against Al. I dunno, it's been years since I seen it. Hitch didn't lose tho...I'm just sayin'.
Rev. Dalon Coates, " I would not want someone denying my rights based upon their religious views: therefore, I should not deny others rights based on mine."

Me, "This is coming from a church and bible man, and a black one at that. What happened to it is a sin against man/nature/God to choose teh gay. WTF (3)."

"It's about rights and not about (religious) rights...It's about protecting your neighbor or even yourself from a judge or a hospital discrimination against you...," Ben Jealous, NAACP.

Me, "I always knew that once civil rights and LGBT  met they would make a great couple. Let's get Team Atheist in there now and, together, you know the rest..."

Rev. Amos Brown," People are (now) enlightened."

Me, "I don't know how and why the focus went from the bible said it's a sin to now it's about civil rights, for everyone...and I don't even care about the how's and the why's. "

Who says politics and religion don't mix. It's not correct, but honestly...let do mix and they always have.
Of course it's just a 51% to 49% advantage (Pew) but it is still a move in the right direction. Of course there will be holdouts, but those holdouts will have some explaining to do. If the bible once said teh gay is a sin god said so, don't freekin' do it, but now it says something else. How are these unenlightened Revs. and Pastors going to explain this theological change of mind (2).

I don't think chart shows it, but the "nones" and not afiliated with religion was the super awesome black Prez' biggest voting block. From memory i do believe it was 23% (ofetn times I'm wrong).
Remember the last election. You know the one that happened days ago.  Didja see that every vote from every group counts. I forgot where I read it, but, an article stated that this will be the last election (or there will never be another election) where  a candidate who wins the majority of the evangelical white vote will automatically get into office. After the election there were articles about the (oft ignored) Latino vote and how it won Prez Obama a second term (Asian peeps were next, or atheist, in the important vote list, but Asian-atheist-voter peeps...even I think that is too much).

Give credit where credit is due. There are (some) black religious folk and the NAACP that have become enlightened to the struggles of the LGBT community. Dugh. The LGBT struggle is the same as any minority including the civil rights crowd. Team Atheist take note. These two groups and Feminism have been doing this for decades. They all have made great strides.

Am I outta line for suggesting that we have a...forsome.

(1) Go down the list: the bible was written by humans, not a God-and no it wasn't inspired by a God (much less your Christian God-how arrogant), because if that was so then God inspired 100,000's that wrote and rewrote the bible over centuries and centuries (and it's still happening).

Hello Epicurus. If this is so, then (your) God is not ALL powerful-he shoulda done it right the first time, right.

...(back to (1))...mmm, humans err..so there.

(Then you reply with mere humans cannot know the mind/intention/plan of God.)

Then my head explodes.

(2) An awesome scenario would be if the parishioners started to critically think about their beliefs. If they don't change, that is one thing. But fuck-en-aye man, at least try.

(3) I'm ass sue ming (i.e. Ming Dynasty) that dude is teh black. Besides that, one of the black religious arguments is that the law of God is higher than the law of man. It will be interesting to me to see the so called answers to that one will play out.
